Several major Indian ISPs have recently blocked access to three major domain name registrars, Dynadot, Namecheap, and Tucows, as well as two other smaller registrars, Sarek and Gransy.
The move comes as part of a long-running dispute over cybersquatting, with Indian courts and cybersquatting victims frustrated that registrars are not responding to their take-down notices.
According to Ankur Raheja, an attorney who acts as a Respondent’s representative in UDRP cases(Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy), these registrars have been asking that plaintiffs obtain a U.S. court order rather than one from India.
This has added to the frustration of those seeking to take action against cybersquatters, who often operate anonymously and in multiple jurisdictions.

Dynadot, Namecheap, and Tucows are among the top 15 largest domain registrars, The Tucows mostly selling domains through resellers Business. The blocking of these registrars’ websites has raised concerns about the impact on businesses that rely on them to manage their online presence.
The cybersquatting dispute is ongoing, and it remains to be seen how the blocking of these registrars will affect the outcome. However, it is clear that the issue of cybersquatting is a complex thing that requires a significat effort from all parties involved to address.
This 5 Domain Registrar websites are not accessible from few Indian ISPs for now like JIO, Airtel, etc.
